vtc's lol
well i know they would never do a recall cuz they cost so much money to fix.but they should at least have to go halfway on this or something. and people who do get their vtcs fixed still have the chances of them going again...thats bullsh*t.

I'd be willing to join if there's a petition made for this. I have spent $1800 (see my sig) for these darn sprokets and now they're still klacking. I've changed my oil at 3000 miles many times going to the dealer (since it's cheaper), but to no avail.. Nissan KNOWS about this problem. Maybe we all need to filibuster them into doing right by all of their loyal owners.
Several of you have had your cars since they were new and that should mean something to an auto company like Nissan (who is owned by Renault). I've enjoyed my car immensly, but am NOT going to pay to fix these things again. I've actually decided to run the car until the whole chain system fails!! Then I junk it.. The only way I would reconsider this is if Nissan made a sproket that was solid without all of the springs, etc inside and sold them for $99 each INSTALLED.. Probably will never happen, but those of you that own later model 300zx's remember when Nissan had a fuel injector replacement campaign. This was probably more fire safety related, but it happened for thousands of older cars.
If anyone wants to start a petition, count me in..
Thanks

Nissan knows their VTCs suck, they dont care, get over it
there have been MANY people who wanted to try to start something against Nissan but I highly doubt they would do anything for a 10 year old motor that was only out for 2 years
just enjoy the clicking, you can pretend you have a diesel maxima and impress all the ladies now

I hear you Craig, but I also can relate with the other guys. I have the wonderful clacking sound of a car bomb in effect better know as bad VTCs. I am going to soon do a complete bypass if possible of the vtcs when I rebuild my engine and say good bye. If I cannot do that then I will just install the 300zx block oil spraying system that shoots oil through multi sensor sprayers through the engine. I am not gonna give up on my car because there is always a way to cheat cheaply made products and reinforce them.
Take the rear sway bar chasis mount for example there is another POS part of our cars that needs to just be reinforced is all!
