Any Two Door Maximas In Existence?????
Not that I would do it (although my paint sucks anyway), but a flat black 3rd gen (well done of course, masked and such) might look pretty mean too. Makes the carr look a smaller and slinky you know what I mean? I and going for gunmetal or black Rota wheels..maybe I'll do it. Naa! I wouldn't have the cajones!
Why be so hell bent on a GT-R?? You could get another R33, like a GT-S or something, for around $23,000 with pretty low miles. Don't think for a second you won't spend that much converting a Maxima, anyway. MotoRex will have a GT-S imported for you if you throw down the deposit or get approved for financing. They are cheaper than you may think... unless you want a brand new R34 and then you may pay upwards to $90K but hey, go for the R33 GT-S or something...

I think it would have to be just right for a maxima to look like that, rims, lowered, stuff like that, then performance to back it up

I still have faith that a 3rd gen max can get into the 12's for less than 10 grand, total. Make that 8500 if I paint it flat black!

It's all about chewing up (your) flashy paint job and neon lights and farting them out my 3" titanium exhaust...

...The Funny thing about kids who talk alot of sh*t is, all they can do is talk. Since if you knew me you wouldn't run your mouth so much. I'm a nice guy man, there's no need to **** me off.
Anyways, yea, I'm gonna be going with a 95/97 240SX in the middle/end of winter, so it'll be ready for my conversion in the spring. Anyone know how much it'd be if I was to get head and tail lights pitted to the 240SX with a full bodykit, and possibly fit the steering wheel??? Would it be under 2k$? Just looking for a quote. I was looking on E-bay, and found this- http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=1868381674
(JDM Skyline GT-R RB26 engine 240sx)
That'd definately be something I'd love to do to it, if it'd fit. Anyone got any info on that, get back to me, I dont know too incredibly much about just engines and fitting to different cars.
Just check it out and tell me what you think. If I can get a GT-R engine, I'll definately do it.
Thanks Yall

you are going to have to go the 240sx board. we own maximas, not 240s or skylines. search those boards, they will have more info than us. the only thing you will find on here is a bunch of people flaming you.

Under 2K? You're kidding right?
(JDM Skyline GT-R RB26 engine 240sx)
don't get the JDM save the money and get the US version

Yeah one would fit but for the price of all that work it would be a very nice downpayment on a skyline.
You might as well just delete this thread, all you're going to do i is completely reamed out, because for a project like this you don't know nearly enough. Go to a 240 board and you'll have a better time there maybe.
Also am i the only one sensing imminent lockage since this is now FAR off topic? if so IBTL

Re: Re: 240SX
OK heres my suggestion.
First off lets say that you DO find a 2 door maxima (3rd Generation) Theoretically speaking. So there's your $10K. Now you want the looks and the power to back it up, so you get intake ~$130, get an ECU ~ $200, then an exhaust ~$300, and you also want those spark plugs and 8mm ignition wires etc etc etc ~ $120. Including labor you spend $1000 to tweak the engine. Then you get the skyline taillights, head lights bumpers seats, steering wheel, and of course that cool looking jdm GTR key (and other small things) etc etc etc that would set you back (conservatively speaking) about $700-$1000. So far the total is $12000. Then since you want the bumpers to go with the color of the car you get a paint job and that would be (for a good one not the maaco type) about $800. Actually before that you want the taillights in and that would be a custom job so labor ~$200, and then the headlamps lets say another $250-$300. So far the total is $13300. Then of course you want the rims that would make it actually LOOK fast while it is standing still that would be about $800. Include spoiler some indiglos and other small things and you have spent about $14500, again conservatively speaking. Now I know that MOTOREX sometimes gets skylines for about $18000, beacause it says in their adds "prices starting at $18000. For another $3500 I think it would be well worth it to buy the Original skyline.
Hope this helps

and like everyone else says, if you're gonna spend that much money, why not just import a real skyline?
oh well, to each his own

The Maxima is a great car to start with, doesn't need any body kit or anything. Just build a Z31 turbo motor and go from there.
I just have my .02 cents to add
First off, just like in SCC you can make your 240SX have between 205 and 250 horsepower from you stock japenese engine which can be found for between 2~3K. Then you can get widebody kits from many different Japenese compnaies that will be more that happy to take your American dollars.
Again the Skyline tail and headlight conversion is very common for the 240 SX, quite a few companies do it. Doing that is much cheaper than converting a maxima. A few months back Super Street showed an S14 Silvia that looked almost exactly like a Skyline.
One last thing is that it is very very hard to put an RB series engine into a 240. Most RB engines are AWD, and the 240 is RWD. Pretty hard to do that conversion, and very expensive.
In my opinion you should do the 240 SX/Silvia conversion (you make a crap load of horse power right off the bat) then take your car to one of these special shops and get a widebody kit and the R33 tail and headlight conversion. But that's my .02
