stanza transmission
stanza transmission
Searched and found a couple threads, but no definite answer does the automatic transmission from an 89-94 stanza 2.4L 4 cyl DEFINITELY bolt up exactly with that of an 90 maxima. Any answers would be much appreciated, emailed a seller on e-bay who sells them saying that they do, still waiting for his reply. Need to find out soon, just waiting for the tranny to completely slip and leave me stuck somewhere.
Re: Re: stanza transmission
I also know the altima will use the same manual tranny as the stanza probably maxima also, as far as automatic's i wouldn't know right now if it'll work. That would be nice though, to be able to put in a low mileage altima tranny, since they're so common.

the auto i'm sure won't work. i went and looked at a auto altima and the tranny was basically upside down coompared to ours. the big black pan thing on the top of our autos (i think the valve body but i'm sure since i don't care about autos
) it was on the bottom of the altima tranny. the bolt pattern appeared to be the same though.

sudesh said the manual will work, he's not sure about the auto though. he also said you are looking for the 90-92 tranny.

90-92 Stanza manuals may be the same, but you should check it out first. Probably would work easy.
I'm not sure about altima trannies.
thanks
nah..the 90-92 Stanza Automatics are the same as the maxima automatics and will bolt up without a problem.
Would the Nissan dealership be able to tell me if i called them with reference to KA24E?

why don't you call and find out?
Based on assumption, I would think the bellhousing would be quite different..4cyl to V-6. But I never heard that the 240 and the 300z shared bellhousings. If this is true, then the same probably goes for the stanza to max interchange.

my brother's car is too low to tell. i put it up on ramps and couldn't get under there so i'll find another way to check it out or run to a junk yard to see if they have any ka's laying around.
confirmation from ebay auctioneer
I just received an email from Phoenix Hard Parts the company that sells rebuilt trannyies saying that yes the 89-94 stanza and maxima transmission are compatible with no modifications.
OK, I posted the KA24 to vg30 tranny interchange on www.z31.com One reputable member there claims that this is "completely bull****" He says he knows from first hand experience. This makes sense to me, as a 4 cyl block and V6 are no where near the same dimensions.
Are you sure that site is right because it says the 92-96 maxima has the same tranny...

HMMM If the KA24DE Tranny fits a maxima than the KA24DE should fit
