Steering wheel swap from SE
Steering wheel swap from SE
I am aware this has been discussed before, but when searching there never is any real resolution to the question. I have the dopey GXE wheel on my '90. I found a very cheap SE wheel off of an '89 at the junk yard. I'm assuming this should be a direct swap due to the lack of airbag on both cars and the closeness in year... I think I'll drop by tomorrow to pick it up anyway, but I'd like to have some sort of idea what I'm doing. I've had my column cover off before and from what I can tell from then and from the posts in search I just need to unbolt the 19mm hex bolt and the wiring harness(es), then swap. It should be fairly straightforward. Of course those are my famous last words.
it is a direct swap. I did the exact same thing (same years and every thing 89SE wheel to a 90GXE)
Just take the center cover off, take the nut off and use a steering wheel puller to get them off (can rent from a parts store)
