May I borrow your exhaust manifolds?

I plan to make a jig to weld up a set of headers. What I need is to borrow or buy a cheap pair of manifolds to use as a template. I'd use my own manifolds but I can't have my max out of commission for a couple weeks while I make the jig. Cracked manifolds would be great as long as the crack isn't so bad that it alters the position of the inlets/outlet. I don't plan to start mass producing headers but if this goes well, I'll post pics and see if anyone is interested. I'd pay the shipping for the manifolds and if it's cracked and you want the manifold crack(s) welded, I'd do it for cheap if you pay the return shipping. BTW if you're wondering why I'm bothering w/ this, perhaps you don't know what winters are like in the Puget Sound area.

You live in Auburn? We just had a dyno day at Elite last weekend! Where were you?? You never peep the NW section. Anyway, have you seen the VE manifolds w/o the head shielding? cast iron flanges w/ tubular pipes joining into a single outlet. Might as well be headers. If you are near Seattle and have a VE, I can show you something

Jeffy... here's a guy that can weld.. why don't you head over to his place for an afternoon and finish up that "project".

I'll take a look in the NW Section now and then - I would like to hook up w/ some guys in the area to share info and expertise. Re: the VE e-manifolds mentioned, I would rather use an efficient cast iron design (no problems w/ warped flanges) but I have a VG and I've never heard anyone say the VE and VG e-manifolds are interchangable. As a Post Script to Jeff, let me know what kind of welding you need. I'm good at mild steel and iron and I have a friend that will Tig weld AL for cheap.
