Paeco clutches

Have any of you guys checked out Paeco's clutches? They have a 6 month warranty even if you race it! I got a quote for a 300zx turbo clutch and it costs $445 but i'm sure the maxima clutch will be a little cheaper. They don't have any limit on the amount of torque and hp you can put through them also. Thought i'd lt you guys know if you are looking for clutches.

I'm telling you man, I don't know why more people don't use PEaco. They have everything you need, guarantee everything, and are fully geared toward ultimate performance. I will buy a Peaco clutch when the time comes. Give it a shot, you may hit on something real good that no one has tried yet. I have gone through their catalog like 100,000 times, making all kinds of mod lists. The only drawback is their prices are on the high side for some stuff, but most of it is straight up. That clutch price is pretty good considering their warranty and claimed power holding capability.

BE ready to spend like 4 hours paging through it thinking (I want to do this and this..oh..and this and this) Especially since you are building that VGT. Take advantage of their services. They can basically do anything you want, including Titanium Rods. THey are $500 each, but they will allow you to spin well ove 7K rpm, and account for like 30+ HP even on a mild engine. If that is too $$, you can go with Ti piston pins, lighten your rods and pistons, put in oversized valves, lighten valves, custom valve springs, Ti keepers and retainers, custom cams, and so on. The more I think about it, the better their services sound. My only apprehension is, how do I know they actually did all this stuff without tearing it all apart? I am going to send them a few disposable cameras, and some extra $$ if thats what it takes to get full photo documentation..like before and after shots of the rods, pistons, and various services being performed. Also, I will have to do some thoughtful coordination between thenm and the cryotreater. I figure lightened rods with all seams ground smooth to remove stress concentrations then cryo'd will be plenty strong for 500hp, since even stock rods in their raw form can handle 400HP. At the least have them balance EVERYTHING. It doesn't cost that much and will produce a much more reliable and smoother running powerplant. And cryo everything. Have you looked into this at all?

Man, you are so right about them. This winter brings time for a complete tear-down of my VG. I've been consulting them on different ideas to build the better mouse trap, if ya know what I mean. If you've got the money, they have some pretty original ideas and I like that. Since my Maxima isn't my to-an-fro car anymore, I've planned some major tweaking and I think I want thier hand(s) in it somewhere. Mark, I'd like to see that catalog!! Was it free? I'm going to have to check out thier site, I didn't even think to ask them over the phone about catalogs...

Tweak away dude. I've been on this board for a little while, and it seems like there is a crew of us getting real serious about our 3rd Gens performance wise. My time is coming too. Paeco will definately be part of my plan. I look forward to the day we can all meet up at a trakc and run back to back to back 12's. My friends think I'm nuts, like why don't you use the $$ for a down on a 350Z? I like those cars, but not my style..right now anyway. I want one of a kind, all out sleeper. Long live the 3rd Gen Maxima. Besides, by the time I'm 30 it will technically be a classic!

Search around for Pro-Tech transmissions..they can help in the tranny department. They will install a LSD (which they assured me could handle 400+ hp) and rebuild it for you. Right now I figure on a precision rebuild, LSD, and cryo the whole damn thing. Should be able to get it all done for less than 2 grand. Well worth it if you are trying to go bigh power. Our stock tranny with open diff would suck pretty bad with 400hp through it. Talk about torque steer! Also, there is a place by me in south NJ called Rallispec (they are on the web too). They Focus on ralley cars like AWD subaru's and such, but quoted me $350 + parts to rebuild my tranny out of car--$450 in car. Good prices. I trust them as they do all kinds of crazy drive train stuff for ralley rides. I am looking into the Phantom grip thingy too. It is a LSD device that you install in your stock open diff. It gets great reviews and really simplifies installation. I just don't know about the power handling of the devise. I plan on doing the tranny and short block first, of course after the suspensionis properly treated along wiht the WSP chasis stiffeners. Once the suspension, tranny, short block and basic turbo system is in, the rest is all top end and tuning work, stuff I can do without having to pull the engine trans. I feel like I have the plan pretty well worked out, now it's time to save my pennies and get the ball rolling! By the way, a Z31 turbo with stock turbo and fuel system, but modded in other ways, can run low 13's. I think that once the chasis and suspension is worked out on a 3rd gen and it is pushing 400hp at the wheels, 12's seem within reach.

Sorry, I meant GForce, not GTech. Don't know what I was thinking, haven't had enough coffee yet this morning! Anyway, do you know anything about them??

btw guys, I got a quote from Paeco for P&P heads, upgraded valve springs, retainers, new lifters, oversized valves and new cams- $1900!
I was expecting something closer to 1200, but oh well. I'm thinking that I could get away with a good port and polish and upgraded valve springs- what gains do you think I would be sacrificing by keeping the stock valve size? I plan on running a 280 cam, so will that increase airflow enough? I guess I want to know whether you think its worth $500 to install larger valves.
