I've had success with that stuff as long as it doesn't streak

Dude....try this

I had the same problem. My trim looked like poo. And what's worse is I had the doors on the driver's side replaced a while back after an accident, so they were even worse than the passenger's side. I ordered some of this stuff called Forever Black. Its a permanent dye and after two applications...WOW. Black as black can be. Just be careful not to get it on your paint OR your windows as it is difficult to get off windows and possibly impossible (heh) to get off your paint.

Check it out: http://www.properautocare.com/fb-1k.html

Hope this helps

Would that stuff work on faded spoilers?

I wonder...

not sure

Well, with spoilers, they are IDEALLY painted and have clearcoat on them, which is not as porous as the trim. Usually, if trim is turning white, that means its probably dried out and cracked looking, looks kind of like the salt flats where you see all those speed tests done, which allows those silicone treatments to get down in the cracks and dry up white. This dye works the same way except it doesn't dry white at all. So if your spoiler is suffering from a missing clearcoat and you're looking for a quick fix to make it look good from a distance, more power to ya, but all its gonna do is make it black, not make it shine like paint should. I guess it all depends on how bad off your spoiler is right now. Hope this helps you guys get our blacks back!

Peace,
Kevin

I run a part time detailing operation here in hawaii. Great job if you want a little extra cash each month. Anyway, I use Mothers products almost entirely and I know they have a black trim restoring product that works magic on faded trim. Give it a try. I dont work for mothers by the way.

I started using Forever Black earlier this year too and it works great! It helps to mask off anything that you don't want to get it on. It can be an SOB to get off. 2 coats on the lower window moldings did wonders! I then used the Mothers Back to Black as a dressing afterwards for car shows. Looks great.

I just used some KIWI black leather dye for shoes that comes in the same type of applicator that Forever black does. It worked great. I think it was under $3.00. I picked it up at Wal-Mart I think. It dyed the stuff black and dried quick. Held up in the snow and rain from the other day.
