electrical problems

my 93' max started acting weird last night on my way home. all interior light went out including everything on dashboard. however, whenever i stepped on the brake, all lights came back again even i turned the headlight off. that's really weird. i took it to the dealer. after 2 hours, they diagnosed that it's the problem of 4 light bulbs for the brake light. they all burnt out.. and it caused short circuit.. and that's why the interior acted weird.. only worked whenever i stepped on the brake.. however, it costed me 160 bucks for finding out the problem and labor for changing those bulbs.. + 20 bucks for the parts(4 bulbs).

also, the low fuel warning light hasn't been working for 3 months. they also diagnosed that the fuel level sending unit and the gas tank isn't work. it costs 240 bucks (3 hours of labor)to replace with a new one. the part costs 121 bucks plus 13 bucks for gasket..

i thought that those are minor thing but it turned out to be damn expensive.. totally spent $598.68 today at the dealer.. maybe i got ripped off..

Re: electrical problems

dude...uhh..did you check your battery terminals?

I was having similar electrical problems a few months back.

Cleaned the terminals of all acidic buildup and bought new connections.

Hate to be so sarastic, but damn.

$500?
