My car has 81k miles on it right now. When the car idles it makes a loud noise and shakes...I don't know if this is because it is cold or because it needs a tune up. Anyone know? How much does this service cost?

 

When a car needs a tune up, it usually runs rough. Doesn't make engine noises. what kinda noise is it making? If its a loud cranking noise, might be ur belts. Cold weather usually plays a part there. If it idles rough, a tune up would be a good idea. A tune up at Courtsey Nissan ( Richardson, Dallas) runs bout $250, I believe. All they do is change the sparks plugs, air and fuel filter. And ofcourse fill up the fluids. I think you can save some money by doing it urself ( if you know how to) I did it myself last summer, threw some Bosch platnim plugs, disassembled the air intake hose n cleaned the heck outta the air cam, changed the air n fuel filter. Cost me bout 30 bucks all together. Its not really that hard to do but if you've never worked on cars, I wouldnt suggest doing it by urself. Good luck
