92 SE 5spd 55,000 miles on it???????
Is this even possible I figure most if not all 3rd gens should have atleast 100,000 miles on it. I mean this guy is selling this 92 SE 5spd nice as hell with leather interior sun roof and fully loaded for 3,500 and he is saying it has 50,000. Is there a way to find out if this is true. I mean I know how to take a cluster out but is there a way to see if this guy rolled back a couple of numbers. I know in a 3rd gen max the miles really dont matter cause these engines are bullet proof. I just dont want this thing to become more work then I need to. Give me some feed back on this I am going this weekend to test drive it and poss buy it.

The odometer works by miles traveled, not time. So it is possible that this person only drove it 55k; it is rare, but it is definitely possible.
Get the VIN number and run a carfax report on it and it will tell you if the odometer has possibly been rolled back.
dnas420 made a thread recently that he was doing carfax reports for free so you may want to search for that thread.
Other than that, just look for all the basic maintainence stuff and take it to a trusted mechanic to have it loooked at. For specific things to look for, search - it's been discussed many times before.
Good luck and that'd be great if you could get a nice 3rd gen with that low mileage.

Give me the VIN by 2PM MST, and I will run a Carfax for you.
Other than that, look for obvious signs of wear that people wont think you will notice:
Windshield wiper arms: look for bald spots where there is no black paint. Or look for signs that someone painted them.
Look at the interior, especially the seats. Look for worn spots on the driver seat.
Look at the Blinker and windshield wiper control arms for heavy wear.
Pay a mechanic to look over the car thoroughly. He should be able to tell.
If that doesnt work out for you, I have a 92SE with 159K miles for sale in the org classifieds, totally legit.

Mine has ~76K on it, and one I almost bought before this one has just over 57K so it is possible. Check it out, and do the VIN check. Count yourself lucky if it's for real, that's a great find.
