Re: Favorite Maxima

3rd Gen: 1994 SE 5speed, blue w tan leather interior (After Interior swap. I don't know, I'm just a sucker for tan). If I had all the money in the world, I would rather restore it to showroom condition I would also put some '95-'00 SE rims on it.

91 SE 5spd, black on black leather
-Nismo Euro cams, p/p heads, JWT 65-shot nitrous setup
-good clutch and flywheel setup
-UDP, I/Y/E
-FSTB, R/FSB, Koni shocks, Susp. Tech springs, big brake kit
-17" Motegi Mr7s Gunmetal
-Stillen kit, CF hood
-audio video system(better than my current one!!)

I'd be happy with that...not too extreme, but just enough! plus listing mods for a turbo Max is too complicated!

mine, since i already have a fully loaded black/black leather VE...AUTO!

-5 speed transmission swap (*** level 10, its still an automatic )
-full suspension upgrades...eibach/tokico, SFC, RSB, better tires for my 99 rims...cant wait to get my stock rims back on for the winter - muuuuch better tires
-Y and cat; probably WSP
-maybe cai..or a reasonablly quiet intake with little/no growl; id rather hear the smooth roar of the VE at high throttle instead of an intake
-fully dynamated/sound proofed interior
-maybe another amp + any other stereo stuff (project MP3 in-car computer maybe? be nice havin all my 2,500+ mp3s right there instead of switchin cds at every red light)
-more/brighter interior lighting under the dash and on the dash..cant see sh.t at night
-stock VE gauges with homemade chrome gauge rings with red needles (like the 5th gen gauges basically)
-E36 lights with homemade angel eyes and HID
-brighter fog bulbs and cornering bulbs with rewire
-no kit, dont need it
etc, etc the ideas never end

Anyway my mods are: Stillen HI-FLOW Intake, Tokico Blue Shocks, Eibach Pro-Kit Springs, Clear Corners, Suspension Techniques Sway Bar Kit, 2002-2003 Front FSTB, ASP UDP, Warpspeed Performance SS Y-Pipe, Carsound Cat, Greddy SP Exhaust System and much more to come. (Intake is going to be changed to a CAI, Stillen kit and HID's). Check my homepage for pics.

the new a$$hole owner took the sigs off because people were posting lewd pictures and other stuff that voilated the user agreement and we were getting many, many complaints about it. When people fix their unacceptable sigs, you'll get them back.

(you'll see that this happens about once a year or so if you've been around long enough.).

why doesn't Y2kev just go after those who have lewd pictures and not everybody. Seems a bit unfair but once he allows the sig feature once again, there are still going to be lewd pictures once he gives back that feature. I agree on the fact that lewd pictures shouldn't be allowed and that these sig pics are mainly to show off your car in a way and not your fantasy girl.

it's a little hard to police 5000+ signature files like that. so instead of cracking down on the several hundred people that have imappropriate/ oversize sigs, he just removed them until everyone else fixes their problem.

when people take out guns and start shooting each other, do you yell at the government for taking guns away from everybody, or do you yell at the people who are doing the shooting?
(well, we all know what IS happening, but what SHOULD be happening here?)

same situation. a few people are punishing many because they are too inconsiderate/rude to fix their own problems.

My fav. maxima would be mine (1993 SE 5speed)! I love my engine, but i wouldnt mind getting a 97' SE 5speed and supercharging it just to see how it drive and runs. But then again my mom just got a 2002 SE (auto ) and it has got alot of pick up in it, i just wish it was the 6speed. Very fast!

I'd have to say Craig Brace's car with Max O/D's engine mods!

And Matt.... with what you are saying being the point, and with the sigs turned off, why not NOW go after those offenders?

Although I'm probably the BIGGEST proponent to freedom of expression, I certainly agree with what you said.... it's just that I'm kinda curious on how long do we (the so-called non offenders) have to wait and how will you as moderators/owners know, with the over 5000 sig blocks out there, that the said offenders have cleaned up their acts, so to speak???

I would get a VE five speed. Black on black, with 18 inch gunmetal volks. Stillen kit with stock spoiler or Stillen "wing"

Suspension: Intrax springs with the Koni adjustable struts. SFCs, FSTB, Suspension Techniques sway bar set.

Performance: Y, CAI, UDP, ECU, cat,Greddy Exhaust

probably some other stuff, but that's just off the top of my head.

there are some scripts that admin can run that checks the length of each sig file and reports the ones that are too large.. the ones with "inappropriate" pictures in them are pretty much known, so those will be dealt with on an issue by issue basis.
as for the rest fo us mods, there's not a lot we can do except sit back and wait for the admin/mod types to clean things up again.

Hmmm, most of you want third gens huh? It really makes me appreciate my car!

Any way, black on black leather '94 SE 5 speed w/ LSD trans, port and polished heads, headers and 2.5" exhaust, JWT intake, UDP, etc. I'd just want to make my car a sleepler. No turbo, SC, nos, etc, just a plain ol' looking max with some real 8@!!$

I'd have to want my current car with a dark grey leather interior, 2K2 3.5L with 6speed, Titanium Edition rims, a small drop with a molded Stillen kit. Keepin it simple on the outside.

Look at it like this (and this is just MY opinion):

92-94 SE's had the DOHC engine. Since it just came out in 92, you want to wait a couple of years to make sure the manufacturer has worked out all the "kinks".

And as for the 5-speed.... do I REALLY have to answer THAT???

because it's newer I guess
I am not sure about this, but I *think* that it was said how Nissan may have fixed up some things / made some changes in the common problems the car had?
again, it's been a while, i may be wrong..

but i am sure most people do not know about this
they just want a newer car and a 94 SE 5 speed is quite rare..

aren't you supposed to be in class anyways?

the '94 SE supposedly should not have the VTC problems that the 92 and 93s have, because nissan realized their mistake and began correcting it in very late 93 model run.
otherwise, it's just because they're newer and have lower miles.

As for me, I'd keep the car I've got and finish the pile of projects in the garage. mine may not be the absolute fastest or best looking, but it will definitely be the best handling and braking 3rd gen in the country.
(it probably already is, but I'm not telling any more secrets until I get all the bugs worked out)

I have always wondered about this. If they did change it, couldnt we repair ours with the 94 parts and everything would be fine?
