My car is shaking or shimmying however is politically correct I believe the factors are I have a slow leak in one of my tires and I also need a alignment do you think those things would have anything to do with that. It's shaking only when I go on the highway.
High speed vibration is most commonly caused by an out of balance tire. If the steering wheel is shimmying, you may also have a "separated" tire, a tire where the steel belts in the tire have come apart due to impact or wear. Take a close look at the edges of the tread pattern on your front tires, and look for a bubble or distorted area...
