wanted to get some insight and info on a short throw shifters? I was looking @ the one on custommaxima.com for like $68? How good is it? has anyone bought and installed one? Give me some feedback on it!! Are there and other quick throws for a 3rd gen max that are better, but for a reasonable price?

i like mine. you can make the shift extremely short. the shifts are a little harder than stock. i'm not sure if it's just my car or what but when it gets hot (the actual shifter) it gets really hard to shift. i can't figure out what is going on yet but i hope to soon because it really takes away the whole reason of having a sts when you can't sihft fast in the first place. i think there are some other people on here that have the pacesetter that like it, you may do a search to find some posts about it.

thanks for the feed back will do a search!! But what is the concept behind the STS? The longer the throw the slower the shift and vice versa? I wanted to make sure, you went with the pace setter yourself?

yeah, the concept is the shorter you have to move the shifter the less time it takes to shift, which is true. i did buy one and i like it. my tranny sucks though and keeps me from shifting as good as i should be able to. i do recommend this shifter though. it is real nice and i love how short the shift is, it is also shorter in length compared to the stock one in the maxima. i got mine from nopi for a little cheaper than custommaxima.com but i had to wait extra long. i would check and see if nopi has them in, if not i would just get it from custommaxima because it takes forever to get when they are on backorder.

forgot to ask did you use the same OEM leather shifter boot? Or did you change it up to compensate for the short throw length? Let me know
