Dumbest thing u did in the snow in your max?

Driving in snow is fun sometimes. Last week i got stuck on one of those thin medians on Roosevelt Blvd in Philly. I was goin to school and there was like 8 inches of snow. If you been in philly, the boulevard is 3 inner lanes and 3 outer lanes in both directions divided by medians. So i was in the inner lane and needed to get to the outer lane. So i see a crossover. I drive on this road everyday so i know where the crossovers are. I see tire tracks going through the crossover so i try to follow the trak. Then i feel bump. I was like *****. It was close to the crossover so the median wasn't wide it was thin. So i'm stuck on top of a thin median.. it was stuck parallel to my car under the right side. i hear scraping as i try to get out. I didn't move much so i start bouncing and pushing to try to get some momentum while i accelerated. finally after like 3 minutes, i get out.. i hope my car is ok. when i drove it this week, it seemed ok. i'm not gonna go though anymore crossovers in the snow.

anyone have a stupider snow story?

Something similar happened to me. Only it wasn't on snow, which makes me, dummer than you. I was going to fill up in a Mobil station, and you know how most gas stations have some stupid pseudo-garden incased in cement that's maybe 4 to 12 inches above street level. Well this station didnt have flowers in it yet... It was pretty dark... and... well I scrapped under car... broke a fog lamp... lucky for me my oil pan wasn't severely damaged.

Another time, I was driving on a road that the city purposely destroyed by removing the asphalt, only to repave the road again. Anyway, it was a rainy night, and I didnt see the manhole prominently raised above street level... The manhole ripped my entire gas tank and fuel line... Cost of repairs? $1500... Paid by NYC.

Winter Fun

Its not really stupid but it deals with snow since I live in MN the land of snow and cold a$$ weather, even thought we dont have any snow right now (knock on wood)

Snow + E-Brake = Fun

well last winter I was in a parking lot trying to do 180's and 360's and it was all fun until some security guard came out waving his flashlight at me. I wasnt hurting anything why do people have to ruin things. If I was that guard I would have watched, at least for a little bit.

DRIFTING... p sliding.. OWNED!

lol.. playing in the snow with your maxima is fun
- my friend and i spent at least a hour sliding around in a mall parking lot.. we never got a full 360 but i perfected a power-slide. it's funny becuse there were these giant plows working the lot... and i just kept sliding sideways by them as they looked at me like i was out of my mind. after about an hour we got some food then when we went back to the lot.. there was a cop chillin in the middle... how funny would it of been if i just reved' up full speed and slid in front of him, i have big ***** but not a big bank account, so we called it a night and headed home.. heheh........... i learned alot that night.

- old snow makes ur car dirty...

I have a story similar to Johnny's... When I was in the military, the first winter I had my car, I used to park on base... Well, if anyone has been putting my snow posts together, ya'll will know that they didn't plow the lot... Ever... There was over 20" in there when it started to melt (Even the guys w/4WD couldn't make it out of there... I could!)
Ok, well, there was one section of the parking lot that was partitioned off for motorcycle parking with a 4" or so hump.
Welp, my gf at the time and I were dancing on base, and went to leave, and I was pulling straight through to the road. Just as I made a comment about not knowing where the motorcycle section was, I hit a bump and got stuck... I was playing around for like 15 minutes to get off (By this time I was going to be late getting back to base before liberty expired) And I just couldn't make it.
Eventually, about 5 other sailors stopped by and lifted the front end of my Max out of the hole I was in, and I was able to back up and leave.
Thankfully, my roommate was on watch that night, so I got off scott-free!

This just prove that old adage is true:

You should see a doctor about that.

Yes we all at one point or another drift in the snow or something, but we shouldn't encourage it. Alot of inexperienced drivers could mistake this conversation for enouragement to do stupid things.

Be safe guys, winter is no time to play around.

Re: Dumbest thing u did in the snow in your max?

ha, I drove it. Bald front tires and bad bald joints on my '94 SE 5-speed, and i'm trying to drive it in 9 inches of fresh powder. I must've had some fresh powder in my nose, to even attempt. Limited slip axle was no help.

My friend has a '92 SE, and the winter he bought it we unwittingly went offroading in the snow at Valley Forge National Park, which is about 5 miles from where I live. We were doing donuts (of a sort) in what looked like snow-covered pavement. Well, it turned out to be snowy grass, which we found out by plowing the car into a shallow but mean ditch at about 30 mph. Fogs, front fascia, radiator cross-member thing all ruined, and the hood wouldn't shut until they fixed it, but no damage to the radiator itself or anything under the hood. About 2 grand in damage over-all, and I'm sure the worst part for him was explaining to his father exactly how the car ended up with front-end damage.

Similarly stupid: Last December I still had my '91 SE, to which I had rigged Christmas lights using scotch tape and a radioshack power inverter. They allowed a cop to spot my car as it left the road at the main entrance of my girlfriend's college campus to do a little harmless turfing. He pulled me over, walked up to the car, and asked with mock enthusiasm if this was the offroad nissan he'd heard about, before writing me a few nasty tickets. I fought the charges, which carried a 500 dollar fine, and in court the judge snickered when the officer stated that he had seen my errant car from a distance by the Christmas lights displayed in the rear window.
