Battery and Brake light, Alternator

Hey guys what's up? I need your help. The other day I noticed my idle was low and my lights on the dash and climate control were dim. I figured it could be my alternator and/or battery. So tonight I was driving home and went through a puddle, soon after going through it I noticed my "brake and battery light" starting to flicker and stay on.

It could have been the water or something, so I went to sears and replaced my battery. That didn't help. When I got home I tighten the alternator belt, idler pulley and power steering belts. i must say the car run nice now, the idle went back up from 500rpm to 650rpm in drive and 850rpm in P or N. My problem now are the two lights (brake and battery). How could it be the battery when I just put in a brand new one?
this is what I have on the car:
1. new battery
2. tightened belts
3. battery and brake lights are on when the car is running
4. climate control lights are very dim
5. dash lights are on (speedo, tach, gas, temp gauges)
