Bags or Performance?

wassup fellas. i've got a '90 max a/t. it's only got 70k miles. now...i've already put k&n intake, stillen sb, and 3a racing muffler + clear corners. since it's an a/t, i was thinking of bagging it and just keeping the performance mods low. yall think i should do that or just keep adding to performance mods? tell me what you think. thanks

Air Bags are cool if that is what you are looking for. Do you want just for it to look good, like a show car?? Or do you want the benifit of a lower and tighter suspension?? That is up to you. There is a Orange '92 Accord around my way that is kitted out and shaved up, he added airbags for the little extra to make it a show stopper. There is also a White Acura Legend, and a '97 Blazer. The air bags are very differant, and add to the car!!

But I like the Eibachs, and the Intrax.

Gotcha. I'd go with performance. But maybe thats cause I had a Max with Eibachs. There is just something about that totaly stable feeling when driving that I love.

Only reason I'd put bags on are in the rear, for traction at the drag strip! But I do dig lowriders. Slammed is cool, just not for my daily driver.

If you get performance items, and save the stock parts, you will get money for them in the future when you go to sell the car.

If you bag it, you will never get that money back.

Performance all the way.

Do you mean strengthened? Or are you saying Nissan did not build the tranny inside Maxima's?

what's funny though is that borg warner builds most of the transmissions in cars on the road.. they also build a huge amount of racing trannies... it wasn't in the manufacturer.. it was in the design given to the manufacturer.

they may build a lot but they still don't seem very reliable. the guys on z31 said the t5, even though one of borg warners best trannies, still isn't as good as the nissan tranny put in the 300zx tt.

I use my clutch. Powershifting is a no no. Even though I can run the gears this way without grinding. You blow your tranny by being stupid. Or unlucky.

treat you max good = good max

good max = good tranny

good tranny = no tranny rebuild or replacement

Just a nice thought for you guys!

I got my max second hand... I think the previous owner of my max was an elderly person (who smoked shietloads)... Basically some things weren't taken care of (got my max for a really cheap price due to it) and basically restored it now to a point where its basically a 100%... I was glad coz if the tranny was farked then I would have not bothered with the restoration.

Thank god for the slow elderly drivers in the world who drive really nice sporty cars!
