i need definate answers (suspension related)

i need definate answers about a few things.
will stanza springs bolt up to 3rd gens?(if year specific, which years?)
will altima struts bolt up? (if year specific, which years)
camber PLATES for the rear? who sells/makes them?
anything else to improve the stock suspension other than sways, STBs and SFCs in addition to the above mentioned parts(control arms, ball joints, radius rods, urethane bushing sets[does energy suspension make anything for us?]).
reason why i'm asking: i've searched and i cant seem to find definate answers, i keep getting the "should fit" answers.

matt93se, how do i choose spring rates?

still in the planning stages, but possible group deals a few items.

don't waste your time. it's not worth your time or money to try to mess with all that stuff. I know from experience.

ANY spring will fit, given you don't care how the car rides and handles.

same with struts, to a point.

you don't need camber plates for the rear. you can do a lot more with a lot cheaper parts if you look at your current suspension and think about it a while.

I'm going to be getting in touch with energy soon about various parts and I'll deal with that when they get here... they won't custom make anything for us because there's jsut no market for it. they'll maybe sell 10 or 20... just not worth the tooling cost to them. we'll have to find stuff in their catalogs that already fits the parts we have, and go from there.

choosing spring rates is another thing you don't need to mess with unless you REALLY know what you're doing. that's the easiest way to FUBAR your handling. it depends on the weight of the car, the weight distribution of the car, track conditions, how you want it to handle, tires, shock damping rates, ride height, available spring travel, and a host of other things.

well i'm suspension illerate/dumb, so looking at it wont help me at all. i know that camber is the angle of the wheel but other than plates or bolts, i dont know how to change it(hints are always appreciated ). as far as springs and struts, i was looking into coilovers frankensteined from stanza ground controls, and altima AGXs(assuming they're made for the 1st/2nd gen altima) or illuminas(again, just assuming). as far as spring rates, i know the stanza is lighter than the 3rd gen max, so i would get a higher rate to compensate for that difference. i just want adjustability, and like you said, the only way to compete with YOUR suspension setup is to bust out some custom coilovers :-D

I agree that "robbing" from other cars is the way to go when you can't get them made for you, but without being rude, you admit to being illiterate about suspension.. I suggest you leave tweaking a full suspension like this up to someone who's more knowledgeable about a car's dynamics and such.

I, and several other people have contacted the guys at ground control about the car and they don't want anything to do with a 3rd gen.

i'm not completely illiterate, i have a VERY general idea about suspension, but i'm learning little by little. as far as tuning the suspension, if i'm given a general (a little more specific than my overall knowledge of suspension) idea of where to start in tuning it, i'm sure i could do it. i'll definatly have a chance to as one of my labs is all about suspension and i have an opportunity to bring my car in to make adjustments and such.

as far as talking to ground control, are they aware that the stanza and maxima are so closely related? i'm not being a smarta$$, but companies are very unwilling to listen sometimes. its not what they make, its what you can make work(then again, a few of you already know that).
here is the thread i was talking about(http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....5&pagenumber=2), its not as definative as i thought, but its close enough to make me a believer. if anyone has a great need to enlighten me on the max's suspension, feel free to IM me. beakmoney is the SN, i'm always on.

Yes, I made them fully aware of that when I talked to them. they still said they didn't want to mess with it. basically there's just not enough interest in it to make it worth their time to develop a correct kit.
