Would this work?

Hey,
I have a '90 Maxima SE and I was wondering if I could take out the Bose stereo headset and replace it with one from a '95 and up, the cd, radio and cd player one. Would this fit? Thanks for your help.

Yes..

I have a 95 Bose Double Din unit in my 91 SE. The harness will not match but all the wires are the same.

What I did was go to radio shack, a car stereo place shoul d have it, and bought a harness for the new headunit. With the harness came the wiring diagram. I used the diagram and solder the wire from the new headunit to the existing wires.

Also I believe crutchfield used to sell an harness that would work without rewiring.

It's pretty simple. Just take your time.

Thats some good news. Now I am just wondering if there is a specific year that I should get? Where's a good place to go to get one? Where's a good site that show's how to install it? Thanks for all your help, it's greatly appreciated.

The year really doesn't matter but I think the 97-98 unit looks the best. They usually have them on Ebay.

I already have a Pioneer with the dolphins screen saver, but I just kinda like the looks of the Bose Cd player. Maybe it will give me the ilusion that I have a 4th Gen. rather than a 3rd. Gen.

Also it's better that you get the Bose Head unit because it works better with the stock Bose speakers. It's a typical problem that if you use another brand head unit other than Bose, eventually the speakers will blow and require replacing. Do a search, there is a lot of info about this matter.
