How long do the stock struts last?

I have 125000 on my car now and am wondering how log the stock struts last. Mr front right tire is wearing down much faster than the rest and I am wondering if it might be the strut. Thanks

OEM = alot

You can get some KYB's which are a little better than OEM for about $200 shipped.

The 93 had ~100K on it and they were very dead. My '89 had 140K on them, and guess what? Yup they were dead too. My '92 SE still has the stock jobbers on, but not past April.

depends where you drive, in New York due to the bumps, shiocks will go a lot faster. Don't buy OEM shocks, because they cost a lot and you can buy KYB GR2's for $182.00 shipped from www.foreignautoparts.cc

$182... is that for all four? Mine has 148,000 or so (91 SE), and the OEM shocks seem OK still, but I'm saving for this job.

they won't. if you've got a 3rd gen with stock struts, they're well beyond worn out and time to replace.. ESPECIALLY if you start sticking stiffer springs on them.

I installed brand new Tokicos and Eibachs at 109k. At 146k, it is time for new struts. However, I freely admit that I drive fairly agressively.

Yeah, on my '93 there was a noticable difference after 12K. I was kinda disappointed.

Thanks
