Bent Rear Strut Assembly?

Bent Rear Strut Assembly?
Test fitting my 45mm offset wheels I found there is about 5mm between the wheel and the strut on the passenger side, but on the drivers rear the rim touches the strut. I noticed some inside tire wear on that side as well. Could the stub axel strut assembly be bent causing a camber problem? I would not imagine that adjusting the tow would effect the angle of the wheel to the strut because it is a fixed assembly. Any Ideas? Thanks.

it's possible you have a bent strut, but I would put my money on it being a worn wheel bearing letting a little slop into the system, which allowed it to rub.
45 offset I would figure would rub all the time anyway... I'm running 16x7 w 35mm offset and it's about a frog's hair away from the strut. Pirelli P7000 and Firestone SZ50 tires rub a tad on the strut, but Kumho 712 and Dunlop M20/D2 tires don't. just depends on the tires...

Thanks, Actually I have the stock wheels on the car, which don't have a clearance problem. My new wheels, which I havent put tires on yet, are what I test fit. The spacing is from the new wheel to the strut (no tire) with the car jacked up and suspension extended. I am hoping it is only the wheel bearing so I don't have to tear everything apart. The weather has been so crumby here I haven't been able to really dig into it. The bearing will be the first thing I look at once I get to look at it. I was just at the local yard and luckily they had about 7 3rd gens, so if it is the strut it shouldn't be a big problem to get. Thanks.
