Whats with the brakes?
Hi,
I have a 90 Max GXE. Usually the brakes were working fine. But a few days ago when I started the car in the morning and then took it out of the parking spot, I noticed something weird with the brakes. I had to push the brakes a little deeper to really make the car slower or to stop it. I mean the braking power is still there, but I just have to press the pedal a little deeper for the car to 'start' slowing down. If I just press the pedals a little it doesnt do anything. It wasn't like that before but now its been like that for a few days. Is this a major problem or am I just paranoid? Thanks.

it could be your (low) brake fluid level...it could also signal worn brake pads, how old are they?...or for some reason, there may be air in your break lines, which may need bleeding...
start by checking the fluid level though...maybe a search could get more answers too....good luck

by the time it starts doing that because of low brake fluid, there's already air in your lines and they need to be bled.
also check to where the fluid is going.. it shouldn't just leak out. often on the GXEs, the rear brake cylinders leak and you need to replace them. about $35 each, so it's not THAT bad, but unless you've worked on drum brakes, it's not something for a beginner to tackle.
