the a/r of the exhaust is .96, I know its big but I got a real good deal on that turbo, and I can always change out the housing.

no not yet. I plan on rebuilding a spair ve (stronger internals,lower comp, ect) and taking the stock engine to the dyno and see how much boost I can get before the engine goes boom. I will like to know the engines breaking point, and I will be trying to keep a good a/f mix will I crank it up

the piping is made from Aluminized Steel. I bought a mig welder and did all the welding. The welds are ok and should hold fine, the more I welded the better they looked

 

I would like to say congrats on your efforts in doing it the RIGHT way. I've seen so many bootleg turbo installs (none on Maximas) in person and i can't wait to see your finished product. That Y-Pipe looks mean. You could make a some money off your design if everything works out correctly.

I need to come back to the real world, It is weird to hear someone say a VE 5 speed is slow, in the Maxima world it is one of the fastest...but then I forget there are other cars.

besides.. stock for stock, a VE stick is faster. and MUCH more reliable.
now if only we could change stick on a boost controller and bigger injectors and get double the horses, we'd be golden!

This project will be done in one week. The movers come to my house and to pack all my things (tools). I sent some pics to KLoWnPR109 of the intercooler, and another pic of the wastegate( I had to relocate the carbon canistor to fit the wastegate in that current postion.) I would of finished the pipe today but I ran out of pipes.

 

Do you think you would be able to make anymore piping? I wonder if you could copy a set before you put it on, that way you have a mock up to go off if anyone else wanted to purchase the piping...email me and let me know what you think...

 

Making more piping is no problem, the problem is that im moving back to Boston, and im shipping the car at the end of this month. ( only gives me a two weeks to tune) I will not be able to do anymore fabrication until my household goods (tools) get to Boston. That will probably take 52 days just to get there from hawaii. I made sure evrything was bolt on, so It wouldnt take me to long to take off the piping and do a mock set.

i'm only slow because of my compression (or lack there of).hsahaha

i take bumper to bumper traffic into account...you cant bob-n-weave in that sh*t.
i did get to run alex last night on the way home from work, but thats considered str**t r*c*ng, so i cant go into any further detail.

It is offical....I am done, took it for a spin and almost broke my neck. I used a manual boost controler to turn the boost down from 6psi ( thats what the wastegate is set at) down to like 3-4psi, but I turn the boost controler the wrong way and did not realized it until I took the car down the street going about 25mph, and I slammed it into second. In like 3 sec. later I took a look at my boost guage and it read 11psi! I quickly let off the throttle and looked at the speedo, and I was already doing over 75mph!
The car doesnt build boost until 4100, but when it hits it hiiiiiitttttss. Im probably going to switch to a t3/t4 set up, I think I can benifet more with that turbo on my current set up.
The car sound really mean. Im running a 3" down pipe straight towards the rt fender. No cat, no muffler, just the down pipe. I ship the car in two weeks, so I did not have the time to finish the exhaust. It will be fun driving the car from NJ to Boston (NJ is the closest port) I just hope I can find enough self control to keep the boost down (until it makes it to its new home of course)
