Guys with heat problems!!

I was having trouble with my heater for a while. It would sometimes blow a little bit of hot air but not enough to really heat anything and it would quickly go away. I replaced my radiator cap and thermostat and still nothing. I decided there was blockage in the core so what i did was hook up a hose in the output hose that comes from the core and ran water backwards through it and unplugged the top hose so the water could drain out of the core. Well it worked very very well and i have heat now! Maybe some of you guys can try it as a last resort. Good luck!

SE OR GXE (or does it even matter) and when you say core, do you mean the core that everyone says is a biatch to replace because you have to remove the dash and whatnot??? i'm having the same problems you described you had, haven't changed the radiator cap or thermostat yet though!!

now that i think about it, i can ride around for hours and still pop the hood and remove the radiator cap without any water tryin to flush out from the pressure....so it might just be my radiator cap...i guess i'll check it tomorrow!!!

yes, i'm talking about the heater core that is a mega-biatch to get out. about the cap, that happened to me too, there was no pressure build up so i had to get a new cap. it helped mine a little bit but there still wasn't much heat. it may be different with you, however, it could fix it all. try that and see what happens. if that doesn't work try the backward flush thing if that's a no go then try the thermostat.
