I would suggest some Dunlop W-10 sports. They are great tires and are fairly cheap. I really love them on my car. The wear is good and they perform awsome. I think that they are the best tire for the money. Most of the more expensive tires are so soft they wear really fast. I believe that the dunlops handle just as well and have a decent tread life. I'd recommend a camber kit for your car too. For like $30 you could fix that uneven wear that you have. You'll save $ in the long run.

215's? you running a 7" wide rim?

I'm running KumHO Ecsta Supra 712's on my max now and they're really a soft compund. I'm only going to get probably 15-20k out of them They grip like a **** when you heat them up, but they REALLY suck in the snow and are just "ok" in the rain. My god they rule around corner though!!

Conclusion:

Good:
Little tire Noise
Good Grip when warm/hot
Awesome Cornering
Cheap ($100/tire)

Bad:
Short Life
Not rated for snow
"ok" in rain
Spin easily (break loose) when they're cold

I've got Pirelli P5000's on my Z but really haven't driven it enough to tell you how they are...I'm going to have to get new set for the rear when spring rolls around.

I love my Pirelli P7000SS They're about $115 each at tirerack ($170 each at local shops), so they're not exactly cheap , but they're friggin awesome in the rain and on dry roads.
snow traction isn't that great, but then again who needs to drive a lowered car fast in the snow?

read tirerack's review and documentation on them.. you'll be impressed.

As for treadwear, they're holding up pretty good.. I've got about 15k HARD miles on them.. I drive this thing like a race car all day every day, and my old tires on stock rims lasted barely 2 years.. these have lasted just under 1, and have about 1/3 tread left..

That's with my camber slightly off, as the inside is showing just a tad more wear than the outside edges.. that could also be alignment, but I don't think so..
Again, awesome traction for both acceleration and cornering sideways.. makes corners feel like someone put glue on the road. braking isn't as impressive, but getting much better now that I've got balanced brakes.

i would get a camber kit, but they're only available for the front. my uneven tire wear is in the back. the outside of the tire is bald. i don't really need a perfromance tire because i'm not a hard driver. i like to baby my car so it will last. so i just need a cheap tire that will last a long time for normal street driving.

yeah, if you have OUTER tire wear, you've most likely got an alignment problem.

there are camber kits for the rear of the car, but they're about $130 and only offer a small amount of adjustment. (+/- 1 or 2 degrees)

Hmmm, as for good cheap tires, go to http://www.tirerack.com or http://www.discounttiredirect.com and see what they have on special.. you can find some decent stuff for about $60-70 on there I'm sure.

I'm using Falken ZIEX ZE-502's on my '92 SE. They aren't too pricey and the ride isn't bad. The problem is in my wheels though - I'm using '98 Prelude wheels and the offset doesn't match for the Maxima. I'm using 1/4" wheel spacers, but the insides of the rear tires still rub on the rear struts. I need new wheels.....how much did you get your 17" x 7" wheels for???? Thanks-

I think some Continental's will be your best bet. They are the cheapest and the hardest. You will sacrifice some performance but they are cheap and have low tread wear just like you want.
