I have a 92 GXE that I bought used. About 6 months ago the trunk would need to be shut more than once to get it to close. Now it won't close at all. I have a Chilton's for the model but the diagram of the latch system is very small. Does anybody have any links to a walk thru, or any suggestions of how to fix it, or what might have broken? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My latch broke a while ago as well.

Try pushing the trunk all the way closed, then pull out, and press in on the bottom of the trunk where the latch is until it closes. You should hear a click. If this works you might have to lightly bend the latch section attached to the trunk to get it re-aligned.

Also check the lower part of the latch and make sure the screws that hold it in place have not come loose and let it slip down. That could also be a reason why it will not close.
