MOTM leaves something to be desired

I know that the 1st and 2nd Gen cars are a bit of a classicy type of car but this months maxima of the month shouldn't have been picked.

The sound system that he has installed in his car for example, costs more than the actual car, of course if this occurs, the thief is going to steal your stereo not your ride (it sounds like it happened to him).

Just my two cents, gimme your views.

My view is that in about 28 days, you won't have to worry about it.

so what if the stereo cost more than the car, I only paid $300 for my car, alsmost everything Ive done has cost more than that, what differance does that make? does it make the car less nice? btw you should post this in the general forum or feedback forum

I wish DaBox version 1 had the chance to be worthy I had so many plans for it too. But I agree with the fact that it doesnt matter how much the car costs, but the time and effort put into it makes it worth more to the owner than anyone else.

2nd gens aren't worth much to begin with...so he's not allowed to do what he wants to it? Rims alone could end up costing more. Just congratulate him for what he's done and move along. You don't see many modded 2nd gens and it's about time we had one up.

and i'm glad my car is off of there...it'd be extremely boring to see it up there 2 months in a row

I actually think it's a very good example of a 2nd gen. instead of bashing him for having an older car than you, why don't you look at the work that he put into it and appreciate it. As much as I may hate easter egg blue civics with huge fart pipes, I can appreciate the hard work that they've put into the car to make it look like it does. doing a GOOD repaint with a complete color change is not something I want to every try to do.

a maxima is a maxima, there's no difference in the enthusist's minds. It took him some good time and patience to get his max to look the way it does now. Not many would go thru his troubles.

That maxima is in real good condition and looks better than some 3rd gens out here. Good choice by whoever elects MOTM. It might be all he could afford and tries to make it the best looking, remember not everyone can afford to buy a car, so he might of taken what he could get and worked on it.

isn't it funny how ever newer generation complains when an older generation maxima gets MOTM. last month all the 4th and 5th geners were complaining. now the 3rd, 4th and 5th are? maybe next month we'll have a 1st generation maxima up there.

I had one too! It's nice to see actually. Just like the good old days. Bravo!
When you get to having almost every common bolt-on on a 3rd gen you're looking at the aftermarket stuff all being worth 2 1/2 times what the wholesale value of the factory stock car is worth too. There's a used white VE for sale down the road from me for $2,195. I put $3K of aftermarket into my car just last spring. If it's still in good shape and looks nice, then so what? I'm sure there's guys with so much done to early 4th gens that they are in the same boat too. And if they are deserving of a MOTM then great!

A Max is a Max I dont care what gen, every Gen. needs to be represented. Anyway that gen.(85-88) is the generation that really put the Maxima on the "sports sedan" genera!

I like the MOTM for this month. I am actually looking for a 2nd Gen Maxima Wagon. We had one in my auto shop class in high school that was for sell that i had worked on but my folks wouldn't pay the $500 for the car. I've only seen like 3 on the road since then.

Thank YOu..

i am really hurt by this thread.. i can't believe you would say something like this..

you know how many 4th and 5th Genners with body kits and rims out there think they should be MOTM? you know how many of them are ****ed off right now? you know how many of them didn't want Chris to be MOTM?

and now this? with the 6th Gen comming out.. you are going to be in the same boat as the 2nd Gen.. how will you feel when you build your car up and some 4th or 5th Genner gives you the same treatment..

however its your opinion and i can't change that.. you like what you like.. maybe i should go back to the old choices for MOTM.. 4th and 5th Gen's with body kits, rims and stereo

I'd love to see a nice 1st gen as MOTM. Don't think there's been one since I've been on here at least. Anyone have a nice 1st gen? C'mon, we know you're out there. I loved the old Skyline in SuperStreet a while ago.

MOTM

Sorry guys, but I have to ask, who is this guy? Down here in New Zealand, my site is telling me Chris is still upthere. I would love to see a 2nd generation done up. 1 of my friends back in North Carolina had one. Loved that car. I agree with some of the guys here. If this guy took the time & patience to make his car the bomb, well I say good on ya mate(chavez will know what this means)

Chavez, you are doing the same thing the 4th gen owners do to us, just because his car is older, doesnt mean a thing. For all you know, he might smoke you! I drive a 3rd gen and take alot of heat for it, but I know the 3rd gen has alot of heart, I am sure he feels the same about his 2nd gen.

2nd Gens are cool. Classic Japanese styling. I'd rock a 5 spd with a turbo under the hood, blacked out of course.

Sorry if I offended the person who got MOTM. I was just tired and wasn't thinking straight.

Look I love your car and all, but down in aus, if they see that your car stereo is worth more than the actual car, they actually take the stereo. No joke.

Anyways, good luck with the car.

If it bothers you so much why dont you fix up your car good enough so you can be MOTM!!
My next car is going to be a r33 GTST skyline, so i'm not spending anymore mulah on my car.
