Hmmm.....straight pipe??

what do you mean?? Catback pipe and not cat or what? explain your setup.....oh yeah and I doubt 20hp at the wheels off exhaust, even with a hi-flow Y-pipe setup you're probably looking at more like 10-12hp at the wheels!

What they did at the muffler shop was..they took out the cat converter and the old piping and muffler and put in a whole new 2 1/4 inch pipe and a performance muffler i bought and welded it all together..i feel a lil boost at high speeds..but that might be the CAI..i dunno..but damn the piping and the labor for 80 bucks..it aint that bad

Okay.....

I see now. are you still using the stock Y-pipe?? not a bad price at all though, but about the HP gains, the mechanic was either really over-confident about his work or just taking a wild guess!! I doubt catback gains alone will yeild anymore than 5hp and thats with 2.5" piping(according to Greddy) so if you don't already have a hi-flow Y-pipe, I'd get one cause then you'll really feel that car pull!!

I hear you on the money thing.....

but the Warpspeed Y-pipe will run you about $255(aluminized steel) and $350(stainless steel), not bad considering Cattman's pipes are $1-200 more! as for HP gains you'll be looking at around 10hp to the wheels(not the imaginary HP estimates most products give). AKAICEBERG just posted a review of this Y-pipe on this board(its probably a couple threads down), and from what he's said, its an awesome mod!!! I'll be getting mine hope fully this spring......I hate being broke!!
