Inside the Bose amp...

this is what i found when i opened my amp for the front left speaker...my meager knowledge of electronic components tells me that burnt out thing i have pointed out is a transistor...not a capacitor like most of the write-ups have suggested...

am i wrong??

i can replace capacitors...but this looks real messy. any opinions what might have happened here?

Looks like a burnt out triac. Most likely due to one of the caps leaking and causing it to short out.

Easiest thing will be to replace the amp rather than trying to fix all the problems from the triac failure.

Brent.
