i have a 94maxima gxe it has 160hp.Could some one tell me if it is a vg or a ve need to know to oder warpspeed intake.thanks

 

 

I thought the 94 had the 190hp motor? Oh well, to know for sure what you have, go to http://www.courtesyparts.com/specs/vin.html

It will tell you how to read your VIN number. That VIN number will tell you all about the car.

1989-1994 GXE and 89-91 SE = VG30E 160hp, 182 ft-lbs
1992-94 SE = VE30DE 190hp, 190 ft-lbs

 

1992-1994 SE models are the only Max's with VE
Every other 3rd gen has the vg plain and simple

WHOA WHOA WHOA!!! Wait.... I thought every 92-94 Max was VE... frome SE to GXE. And the only difference was that the SEs got a slight tweak that boosted them up from 160HP to 190HP at the crank.

Hey, I use the search function often enough. But I never gave this a second thought until I saw the thread and just double checked to make sure. It was active and there... just a matter of convenience...

Hmmm... first off, I know what engine I have in my car, always have, and always will. It was an active thread and up till then, I didn't really care whether some of the 92-94 Maxs had VGs or not. It was information Craig had posted up and I was just looking for "yes that is absolutely true" or "no it's bs". Jesus, sometimes I swear to god you guys are just a little too eager to flame.

 

Just remember from now on that what Craig B says is gospel and should never be questioned.

curious...did the 89 gxe have the option of the white analog gauges? or was that only on the se?

 

all 89-94 SE came standard with white face gauges
the GXE came with black gauges (unless they had the digital dash option from 89-91)

no dealer option for white gauges, but it can be easily swapped

 

what's the deal w/ the taillights on SE's and GXE's?
