What's the best way?
New to the 3rd gen, I have an 89 SE, What is the best way to make the window trim look better, They are faded and chiped, Also I want to remove swirl marks. What products are best for that? Thanks a lot!
Re: What's the best way?
i have the back to black for window trim, works pretty well but leaves an oily residue afterwards. someone had a link to a black stain for the window trim in a forum but dont know the name of the product.
I assume you're talking about the semi-gloss black metal peice on the rear doors that seperates the two peices of glass? If that's correct, and they're not rusted, you can lightly sand the area with a fine grit sandpaper which will give the new paint something to 'bite' to. Then you can buy a can of 'trim paint'. Tape off the areas you don't want to paint, then apply at least 2 light coats.
In Canada we can buy this at Canadian Tire - I would imagine you could get the same thing at Pep Boys or some place similar in the US.
The look is 'factory' and it lasts a long time as well. Works great for wiper arms too.
