if I were spending 2500-3500 on a Maixma it would be towards a boost setup...much more potential than any streetable n/a setup! IMO if your gonna spend all that money for all-motor, the best thing to do would be to start out with a lighter car than a Maxima, but thats just my $.02!

if it were me, i would get a motor done that could be turbo'd in the future, Im not shur what engine you have (vg or ve, it was dumb of me not to check before typping LOL) but I would get the engine done. then a turbo later, so yoour engine could handle serious boost. my opinion

i agree with everyone else i would have them drop the compression and upgrade pistons, rods so you could run more boost safly and do head work but i dont think they could get enough hp out of it na to be worth 2500 to 3500 dollars. i was quoted by a shop if i provided a turbo they would put it on my car for 2k but i wont do it because i can do it for half that but they figured my car would have about 230hp at the wheels with a t3 @ 7psi and i couldnt go any higher safly on the stock bottom end but thats just my opinion although it would be sweet to have a na ve in the 13's

that should STILL be possible even without spending $2500-3500 on some high CR build up!

true but why not do lower CR with high boost and you could be in the low 13's if not high 12's and i think that would be nuts, although high 13's on all motor would be impressive

Just letting you know, Going all motor isnt all fun and games. Making your car Quick and going the all motor route is hard and requires a lot of work, time and money. There are no two ways about it.

I know i brought up a old thread, just wanted to let exco whats he in for

Mykizism is correct going all motor is expensive. Especially if you don't have an idea of what modifications need to be done. However my setup for an all motor VE would be custom 11.1cr pistons, block drilled for VG30DETT oil squirters, SR20DE valve springs + retainers, intake/exhaust port work along with a 3 angle valve job, custom camshaft grind. That is only 1/2 of the battle the rest is getting the car to run correctly with the 11.1 compression and pump gas. You have 3 options go stand alone, go with a JWT ECU, go with a greddy emanage. If you don't live close to cali and can't afford a stand alone, the emanage is your next best hope. Otherwise the engine will detonate itself to death on the stock ECU.

Heikman(sp) racing had an all motor VG engine and all for $7000.00
If it is a VG the heads and porting are your areas to concentrate on. The VG has extreme limitations in breathing above the 5000krpm mark. Cams alone are $550, a Jim Wolf ECU $600, Feul pump from a TTZ $250ish, Port and polish with a flow bench test $500, stock rebuild with new parts $1500 easy, You'lll need forged pistons and rods, and you'll need the heads decked to raise the compression. I have priced this out and done the figure over 2 years ago. The conclusions are this....
NA Build up:
engine would need to rev to 7500 to make 275HP on a 10:1 compression running 93 octane gas. That includes all the race goodies. Total price even on the hookup would cost you $6000.00

I suggest Port the heads, all new seals, 3 angle valve job, mild cams, forged rods/pistons, lower the compression to 7:1 and add a custom T3/4 ball bearing intercooled turbo, price: $5000.00, out come.... 350HP, then you'll need to look at a 10L tranny build, and heavy duty clutch or custom TQ convertor. Either way you will have serious tuning issues.

There are better project cars.

Please tell me where you'll get all that for even close to $5000....

BB turbo alone is $800-1000+, Lev 10 setup is $3000, motor internals, P/P and install of all the valvetrain componenets and drivetrain componenets will run another $1000+, FULL quality pipe fab and all the related R&D issues will run you close to $5-700. some of you guys tlak like you've actually done this before...you can name all the ICs and cams and ball bearing turbos you want, but with $5gs you won't come anywhere close to having what you described run!
