injector problems caused by mechanic

ok guys,
my 90 VG max has been in the shop for more than a month.
the original problem was a rusted freeze plug.
that problem was fixed in 2 days.
heres the new problem: when the mechanic put the car back together it ran like crap. the mechanic said he would fix the problem because he caused it. now the plugs, cap, rotor, and mafs have all been replaced by the mechanic. said parts made no diff in the cars problem. it seems the front 3 cylinders arent getting fuel, leading me to think its an injector problem. this part is strange, the injectors are fine.
if you ground them out, the injector works. so the problem must be with the wiring or the ecu?
any advice would help me a lot.

A decent mechanic would have tested continuity between the ECU harness and the injector sub-harness and ground(s) and figured this sh*t out weeks ago without replacing a bunch of parts that have nothing to do with the problem.

He unplugged something and forgot, or hit something while he was doing the freeze plug. Either the harness or sub-harness is damaged or the ECU... it's probably wiring. The fact that it's the front three is a BIG clue to the clueless, and that a ground makes the injector work. GEEZ. ONE broken wire somewhere probably.

You need to lean on this guy HARD. My mechanic friend is a guy that other crap mechanics send their f/ups to. Yours has one too I imagine, if this is the kind of crap that happens to him and he can't fix. Besides, he's too busy making money on what he can fix to spen time on your car, and you're letting him put you off for another day. It's time for him to send it on to HIS mechanic or the dealer and eat the cost. Your other options are to eat it yourself, or fix it yourself. If this guy can't fix this in more than a month, it's time for you and the car to move on.

Seven years ago, I had to show a mechanic how to fix the valve timing after the belt was put on wrong. That was before I knew what I know now. Made me wonder why I let anyone work on my car, even then.

yeah, your right about that. the mechanic is getting some wiring diagrams so he can check the harness. if he cant get it right this week, im gonna demand him to pay the dealer to fix it. at this point it has became such a mess, this is my primary mode of transpo.

heres the most recent update.

the car is still at the shop. the harness checks out all the way up to the injectors. at this point it must be the ECM. the mechanic is sending it over to another shop to be tested. if the ECM checks out ok, the mechanic is sending the car to nissan.

does anyone have any legal advice?
any help is welcome.

Can the mechanic identify which cylinder(s) is running bad? A simple test would be to hold the engine at 2000rpm and pull each plug wire from each spark plug. If all make the engine run rougher and at a lower rpm then the cylinder is atleast working. However if one doesn't change as much as the others then you found the problem one. Also unless the mechanic removes the injector I don't see how he could "mess it up".

I say buy 6 new injectors with O-rings and have them installed. If the ECU was bad the car should run in limp home mode or throw a bad ECU code.

the front 3 are the ones not working.
the continuity *excuse spelling* checks out on all the injector wires.
when they grounded the front 3 out, they work.
so the injectors themselves work. they just arent putting fuel into those cylinders.

but now the car wont drive at all.
so the mechanic thinks the computer is shot.

i will know by the end of the week if the ecm is good.
after that, im not really sure what would cause this problem
