fuel pump

hey guys now my car has just been starting to do this. It cranks but dosent start up. I was low on gas so I filled it up and still the same problem. All it does is crank and it dosent start up. So my shop teacher told me to take out the fuel pump fuse so it can die out because i might of flooded my fuel pump. So I did it but it didnt seem to work. Now i want to my test code with my eccs to get some codes. Now im wondering has anyone had the same problem or does anyone think they know what it could be I think my fuel filter needs to be replaced but i dont know

p.s I do have spark

fuel filter is an easy enough fix.. 10 minutes there..

to test the eCU you'll need a service manual to get any info out of it. otherwise you can't decipher the codes it spits out.
