vg=160 horses
ve=190 horses
once you on the board longer you will learn tons of info on your car.
The gas smell is more than likely the fuel lines. After time they start to crack and need to be replaced. In the top right corner click search and then type in gas smell or fuel lines then limit the search to 3rd gens then click submit and you shall find more in depth answers there.

lots of info in there including SE vs GXE comparison (with pics )
as for your keypad code, try out the search function and you'll find plenty of info about that
