wierd noise when in reverse?

hello,
just a day ago or two my car makes a winding noise only when im going in reverse. i don't know why its doing it or how? its like the regular noise a 5spd makes only like 200 times louder and more chatter like my clutch is messed up? i would like to fix this problem for cheap but if i have to bring it some where then i will, so if any one could help me that would be nice.
i checked the search and didn't find anything so i could use the help. thnaks alot,

Most manual transmissions will make a winding noise when in reverse. When driving before you should've noticed and if you noticed that it did get louder then something must be getting messed up.

Where in the hell does a n00b get off calling one of the older guys here a dumbass???

At any rate, I still say it might be your bearings. Check your CV joints though, that might be the problem as well. Either way that will either be costly and/or labor intensive.

Sorry.

thanks alot dark bunny lord
the "N00B" is my friend and a kid in my school and he alway thinks he knows everything. but he really doesnt. ( lol haha dave this just kinda happened no clue maybe your shop could do it for FREE )
well anyways ... i dont think it would be my CV joint b/c it only happenes in reverse and its a chatter noise from under the car near the tranny, and its only when im rolling backwards after going in reverse and putting my foot on the clutch and then the noise comes. its a really wierd noise, like a chatter/whiney noise. But i called a tranny shop and i have an appointment on tues (tommorow) and hopefully its inexspensive. but thanks for the help everyone and if they dont fix it or find out what it is ill be coming back with some more questions. thanks
