Anyone have an Aztec Red 3rd Gen without a trunk spoiler?

Matt tells me they had Aztec Red 3rd Gens that were produce one year without the trunk spoiler (probably a GXE or SE w/o spoiler) but I have never seen one.

Well if anyone here owns one I would like to trade stright up for you trunk w/o spoiler for my SE trunk with spoiler.

I dont think 89-91's came in aztec red, I thought it was only the 92-94's

Sea-Max I think you may have a hard time matching it up since any car is going to have different paint wear/fade depending on the location.

the one in that pic is an SE.. probably either had the lid replaced or holes filled + repaint.

there are red GXEs for sale around here. a 93 and 91 in autotrader.

go to www.car-part.com as I told you before. there were half a dozen red trunklids for sale in there.

yes, that is a 1991 SE owned by nupe500
he took off the spoiler, he may have different exhuast on there but I think it's just the stock one but one of the tips (not the actual pipe) fell off so it just looks like single outlet unless you look close

dillemma

first of all 89-91 maxs did have aztec red. i have a 91 SE and 93 SE max and they are both aztec red.

after thinking it might be hard to match up a trunk since colors do fade and the cheapest spoilerless trunk lid on car-part.com that I found was for $150. yikes.

so the question now is how much would it cost to cover the hole, and repaint the trunk at a body shop?

anyone have an idea?

150 is cheap...dont know about shipping (I assume it was a local place that had them) but it will cost more than that to fill the hole and paint it not to mention the paint will be fresher than the rest of the car and will not look right anyway.

You can get it done at a body shop, but it's going to cost you the same amount of money as it would for the new lid you just described. I just did mine myself, you could do that and take it somewhere to have it spot painted. A lot of places can match faded paint if it's not too bad...
