barely pass emission

I have a 92 se auto w/79k miles. I got my car inspected last week and I barely pass my emmision. I have the hot air induction, wsp y pip and a new carsound cat. I still have the stock muffler. The greddy cat back is still sitting in my room. I clean the tbi and my spark plugs are good.

The emission results were:

CO HC NO

limit reading limit reading limit reading

.69 .o2 124 122 937 935

Besides the vtc clicking, the engine is a little weak. I am thinking of replacing the egr valve. Do u guys have any ideas why the hc and no are so high.

Could be that, or you can wait for someone that knows more than me. I'm stumped.

thanks anyway

the only thing that I can think of that would cause for a high hc reading is that the engine is running richand is not burning up the fuel.

I coulda told you that, but there's like a million (ok so not quite that many) causes for that. If you are running righ tho, I suggest pulling off your hi-flow cat until you diagnose and fix the problem. The unspent fuel could seriously mess up your cat by detonating on the ceramics.

You don't want that.
