Custom E-36 Headlights?

Custom E-36 Headlights?

those of you that have taken off the stock lense of the 3-36 lights, how harg was it did you have to cut the lense or did u pull them off i want to know because i want to paint the black parts to match my paint color

Well if you use stock U.S. E-36 lights then you're going to have to cut. If you use the Euro Ellipsoids then you can just pop the front open. I heard that cutting the U.S. spec lights are a pain in the *** especially to put back.

so the only way i can do this is if i cut off the lenses. i can do the flush mount also

You mean like this...use a dremel or cutting blade.

I know I didn't have too much of a problem popping mine off to put the Angel Eyes in. You shouldn't either.

actually those are homemade....

I made some from a plastic rod I bought at Home Depot and use the oven..but the light pattern is not very good. As you can see I glued it together already. I just bought some Generation 4 Angels off ebay and will be replacing those home made ones, IE the cutting blade. Will post some pics when I'm done.

for future refence if anyone wants to do this is to get a set on free form BMW E36 lights off Ebay with the angel eyes bulit in and glass housing. They are cheap these days and the glass housing would resist scratching much better than these old ones. You can also take it off and paint the inside, like I did to match the color of your car.
