CV Boots

Both of my CV boots are torn and are being replaced this weekend. There is a clicking coming from the drivers side front wheel while turing which I'm sure is a bad CV joint. Anyway, I know there are tranny seals which should also be replaced while they are working down there, but is that the only preventative maintainence I should have them do while they are down there or are there other seals or anything else? I searched on this the last couple weeks but obviously can't right now. Thanks guys.

I did my boots recently, and I only replaced the seals. They are the only items that are disturbed, it's a good idea to do them now.
I've had no problems since.

Heh, Heh, mine CV boots have been torn for at least 70,000 miles and I haven't fixed em yet. The cost difference of fixing the boot versus replacing the whole CV joint is only about 50 bucks so I opted to wait until the joints start clicking and just get new joints.

Only $50 more? I though a CV boot is around $10 and a rebuild unit $120?

By the way what do you recomend for a boot that 75% missing? 2000 miles ago the dealer said all was okay. Look today and only about 25% of the boot is left. Is that likely that a boot can disappear so fast?
