Hey, Ive been reading the forums for a while now, I have another registered name (Threat92se) but SOMEONE never activated my account...ehem. Anyways, if you cant tell from my name, I have a 92 Maroon Maxima SE. I seem to be one of very few 3rd gen'ers with a Maroon version. Oh well, enought ranting. I have a question real fast though. The other night I was idling in front of the local hospital waiting on my mom to get off work, and my int. lights go off while im parked. So im thinking, oh great a fuse went out, but when I press on the brake, they come back on. The part the worries me is the fact my rear lights (not really brake lights, but ones that are in the brake light that idle red at night) also do this. So basically at night, from the back I look like my lights arent on. But luckyly my brake lights work. UPDATE - now my int. lights dont come on even with the brakes applied, and one of my brake lights is now out, so it seems to be getting worse. I talked to an AAP guy and he told me what he thinks, but I dont wanna say until I hear some answers, just so people dont say, "yeah, hes right heh"
Just wondering if my problem has happened to anyone else?

I had this problem happen to my car. First off check your tail lights, mine melted when this happened. Second, go in your fuse box, there's going to be one burnt out. Just replacing the fuse should fix the problem, unless some of your tail lights melted, then just pull an assembly from the scrap yard.
well heh, I was about to buy a fuse or 3 the other day, but like I said the AAP guy came outside with me, I showed him my problem, and he says "Nope, not a fuse problem, its your headlight switch" apparently its a common problem in Hondas or something he said. I asked him for a est on the price "Well we dont have em in stock, but im guessing $40 - $100" !@#$%##!!
heh i hope its a fuse =)
Ill check em tomorrow... Anyone else have any other ideas?

Yeah, I forgot to say Thanks. heh Thanks for the info, Im gonna check it out in the day time tomorrow. Are you talking about the fuses in the car, or under the hood? The ones in the car are a lot easier to check, cause the ones in the engine bay suck. Not all of them have see thru tops
oh well. Hey, id rather replace a brake light than the headlight switch. heh Once again, thanks for the info...

If it were your headlight switch you headlights would act up only. I would also bet on the tail light problem. The headlight switch is one of the easiest things to change if it is bad, all you have to do is take apart the lower part of the dash and take off the plastic cover to the steering wheel. You can pick up the switch for cheap. Just make sure that you get a 92-94 switch because they are different than the 89-91 switch. If you don't it will work but you won't have corner lights when you use your turnsignal.
Im going outside right now to go look at the fuses/taillights. Ill post up again when I find out something or if I have a question. Thats what I love about this forum, hella fast response time, and 90% of the time, someone has either gone through the same thing as you, or they just happen to know the answers. Good stuff

OK, I the taillights fuse was busted, I replaced it, everything seems to work, cept some of my tail light bulbs are dead, but nothing LOOKS melted or wrong in anyway whatsoever. So, unless something else happens, seems like end of story. Once again, thanks a lot guys. Its time for me to go to advanced auto parts and rub it in their face how wrong they were...and also to get some bulbs

on this AAP guy. I've had this happen and yeah... my money is on a melted brake light... the one that doesn't come on when you brake.
