manual swap question
manual swap question
According to a tranny application chart, the manual trannies have the same number (RS5F5OA) for 85-89 maximas. Would the bellhousings be the same?
Any input is appreciated. If they are the same, then it'd be easier to find parts for the conversion.

Yes they are. The clutch kits are the same part # and there was a guy on the 1st/2nd gen forum that installed a 3rd gen tranny on his 86 maxima. You just have to swap the speedo gear if your using a 85-88 tranny. Otherwise it is plug and play.
