Engine Swap

I have an 87 SE with a bad Engine. Have oppurtunity to purchase 90 SE for parts. Can I make this Engine fit 87?

there the same engine with different manifolds, so some things are placed in different positions.
But if your just talking about swapping the block it should be fairly easy.

There's the same, and then there's direct replacement. Aside from the intake there are some number of other differences. For instance, the oil filter is in different places. The key thing to find out is if the motor mounts are the same: if they are the newer motor will bolt in. I am not sure about all of the different engine sensors. If the sensors are different and/or wired different you might need the newer wiring harness and ECU. Another possibility would be to use the old intake, injectors, sensors, etc.
Sorry I can only point out some ot the issues, and not give a difinitive answer.

is it possible to put a 97 engine in a 90? without many modificatios
