Maxima 89-94 $625.95 I haven't called them to find out for sure but I am sure that they have them if they have them listed as a new item on their front page.

I gess that is entirely possible. This was the first site that I found that says they sell a CF hood for a 3gen. Like I said I haven't called them to verify anything and have no idea if anyone here has purchaced one from them or where they got theirs from.

no, I don't think anyone has done that. and actually if you work alone it would make engine work more difficult...there no way to put that OEM hood back on the car easily without help! but is the hood that in your way when you work on your car?? unless you are taking the motor out(through the top), IMO its not really necessary to remove the whole hood.

if you do that the hood will bounce around alot, the pins dont hold it down real tight.

ONLY 35 lbs!? lol

It's a GREAT weight savings (especially compared to other CF hoods vs. stock). However this new retail price is insanely too much, especially considering shipping is another $100. Glad I was in on the original GD.

N34JZ my pins hold my hood down super tight, although they were the biggest PITA to get them to line up, work, and connect together correctly. But once that was done whew it's great. I got those flush fitting ones with the key. What kind do you have?

35lbs is pretty significant, but IMO on your average everyday street car these hoods are more for looks than weight savings...and yeah $700 is way too much!

Wow I actually found a reliable sourse

As for the looks thing, I have a stock black hood on a blue car and it only cost me 150 total to get. And Yes it is a PITA to put on even with 2 people. (I had to replace my original hood because of minor fender bender)

Only a $150? where did you get it? You have any pictures. I ws thinking about getting a carbon fiber hood but didn't think that anyone would carry any. Body kits are ***** to find and i've only found two or three. I have the money if it's only that much to get a hood.

$150 for the stock hood, not the CF . Read the fine print.

I have a question, if the CF hood gets chipped from daily driving (the front) can it be repaired?

I'n not for sure, but i would say doubtful, coarbon fiber nature is that it basically "weaved" right? if you manage to break a piece of that off you'd need to weave more carbon fiber in there, but at the same time, the Cf should not be getting damaged, but if you're really worried i woulld say use some of that 3M coating on it, when i was in Cali there was a guy who sued the coating for his ENTIRE car, a new Z06 when they first came out, the guy installing the covering says he oes a lot of peoples cars with it and it works pretty d@mn well

I don't really remeber too much about it, just that i THINK it's a polyurethane film, 3M makes it, but i don't think they sell it direct, you would have to track down someone who deal in that, if you talk to a high end car shop they should be able to point you in the right direction and now that i think of it, you might want to browse some corvette forums, because the guy who was getting it installed did it from the recommendation from several of the guys on one of them....
