Component speakers in Rear Doors.......

I was getting my son out of the car & had a thought about if anybody made custom pods for the rear doors for component speakers. I know sumbody will say that would be stupid, but I think if I was making a competition car, I would want to get the best sound out of my car, meaning components in the front doors, rear doors & in the deck. Has anybody done this setup b4?

That WOULD be an interesting sound stage... imaging would be a bit lower than I'd like, but I think you could offset that with a decent component setup in the rear deck. Definitely do-able, I'm sure.

I think it would sound good. In my last Maxima I had components in the front doors, components in the rear deck and the tweeters mounted into the rear doors. My friends loved sitting in the back seat then there wasnt a battle for "shotgun" anymore.

Nope.. if you're competing, you want the sound to come from the front, not the back. you also don't want highs behind you at all, as it also detracts from the soundstage. only thing you should even consider running in the back are a pair of mids- and mids only.

Thanks Matt, I might just do that. Have you heard or seen anybody do this b4? WOULD love to see pics of any Maxi owner who has done this.
