Digital Climate Control

IS it possible to switch out the analog climate control section for a digital one? Has this been done?

it's not really worth the time and money it would take

the digital one uses several extra components and a LOT of wiring

I looked into it before but decided it really wasn't worth it

Craig... thanks for the info... I might be able to find the parts cheap... do you mind sharing what info you found with me? The harness for the digital can be spliced into ours? The assembly itself is the same size as our analog one correct? Any info would be helpful... I still might give it a try despite the fact that you said it might not be worth it... Thanks.

crsmax - I looked into it a while back so I dont really remember everything

there are several sensors, some motor thing (not sure what it does) and a few other little pieces here and there

and then the wiring, it's not just a matter of rewiring a harness or something like that

if you're really interested, you'd need to check in a FSM - I dont think you'd be able to get very far in the swap without it anyway

there's several pages of wiring schematics for each system and also some info about the components of each

enjoy the manual climate control

Then once you get it in...

...you can take it out again some time down the road to resolder the board , or do I like do and ignore the fact that the lights come on sporadically (here in Las Vegas I keep it on one setting - 65 )
