Is it really that harmful to have no catalytic converter on your car? I live in Indiana and we can't get screwed with emissions, but, I'm just going to have a straight pipe on there for a little while until I can get the money for a high flow cat.? Do you think that it'll affect my car that much?

I can't imagine it possibly having a negeative effect on performance (or anything but the enviroment for that matter).

As long as it's legal for you to do so, go for it.
Please put a cat converter back on there soon tho.

 

The only bad thing that I see when I had a straight pipe is that it turned my stock exhaust tip yellow and it smells pretty strong.

 

Well guys, I cut my cat. off tonight, placed my straight pipe up there and what do you know! I still need about 2 to 3 more inches of piping!! lol So, I just decided to leave the cat. off and now my car sounds like a freaking V8!! lol When it idles, it sounds like its got a 350 under the hood!! I later took it out and pulled up to this Mustang Saleen at a light. I reved my engine up at him and he was soooo confused!! lol So, after that, I let him waste all of his rubber on his tires while I just casually pulled away slowly!! lol
