spark plugs and wires

Im thinkin about upgrading spark plugs and wires and im thinking about the ngk platinum plugs which are like

NGK Platinum Spark Plugs
Fits on all 6cyl Maxima(95-98)
$85.00

NGK Wire Set
Fits on all Maxima(89-91)
$95.00

do these prices seem right? adn are these the best quality stuff?

what other performance upgrades should i look into?

Im trying to save some gas too

I use ngk wires from parts stores. They were about $60 I think.

if you got stock ignition and coil, there's no reason to go with better wires.

For plugs, I like the Bosch Platinums. I think they are under $5 each.

Get a nice K&N cone style filter and do what you have to do to put it on...just trash the stock airbox entirely. I did this and got about 360-370 miles a tank in the city.

Also, ignition may help mileage a little bit, but I don't think it's worth it for that alone.

You can gut your catalytic converter or put a pipe in its place too, if you don't have emissions to deal with.

Save your money and go for the Bosch Platinum plugs. In my opinion they are as good as the NGKs

green filter on ebay?? I think that stuff is crap and according to reports, over time it will "dissolve" or something and go into the tb causing ...let's just say undesirable damage. Go with normal wires and regular plugs. I havent seen anywhere where they say plats actually improve your performance drastically. I was on plats for a while but didnt notice any difference, so i went back to regular ngks.

K&N cone style filter is definately perhaps your cheapest up grade that will give you more HP and gas mileage. I had the Jim Wolf set up with the Tornado. I used to get great mileage with this set up. I currently still have the Jim Wolf air intake and tornado. Interested? let me know!! make offer!!
