Got my OBX exhaust jacked last night.............

Woke up this mourning and it was gone!!!!! It ****es me off so much that people do such stupid crap like that!!!! I am just really angry now and I guess it pushes me towards getting a higher security system then just the stock alarm and it also makes me think about who knows where I live and what else I put on my car. I just got that sick in the stomach feeling that you get after someting gets stolen off your Max.

Sorry for you, bro. This is the first time I hear someone getting their muffler stolen. What a bunch of low-lifes.

sorry to hear that, i dont know much about exhaust systems besides the fact that i would never put one on my car and i think they all sound horrible but anways was your exhaust/muffler car specific as in whoever stole it probably has a maxima too?

No I think it was a universal one, I forgot. I bought it a long time ago. Now that I have no muffler/exhaust I am going to order something like this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33636

or this

What do you guys think? I know that mufflers give you a very slight slight gain in HP but what would you all recommend for the most HP increase. Just curious ????

can you say rice and your not going to gain any noticable horsepower from a muffler and i dont think a security system is going to stop someone from stealling your exhause unless the shock sensor is turned all the way up but it will go off evey time the wind blows

Well aight Subs, I'm not trying to be rice at all but I had the single one like in the picture and I need something there instead of some OEM piece of crap so then what do you all suggest knowing that I will be adding a Warspeed pipe next????

Why not get one for the 2K1 Max? It's not "rice" (as they say), it looks pretty much stock on a 3rd Gen, and you won't hear from everyone here trying to accuse you of trying to out your Max....

I personally think the first muffler looks better, but that's just MY opinion (and we KNOW the opinions around here are like buttholes - everyone has one and some stink).

Dammmnnnn sorry to hear that man. Such a stupid thing to happen.

I'd go with the first one. I have a DTM style muffler from Arospeed, with dual 3.5" oval tips....I think it looks pretty good. Rice or not, its different than anything I've seen on a MAX, and thats cool to me.

You can kinda see the muffler on my page.....

man that's crazy. someone really wanted your muffler man, taking time to cut it off like that

that second muffler looks like my magnaflow muffler, just a wee bit smaller in canister diameter

i originally had the dual DTM but it droned way too much for my liking. my current magnaflow doesn't drone as much and i love the deep rumble it make when my car is at idle

people around hear just take a hacksaw to the exhaust piping and cut it about 1/2 way then kick it off, most people dont bother to replace the piping so its usually pretty rusted or the muffler is just clamped on which makes it easier.

My freind lives in upstate NY, he had a crx (the one I was gonna do the swap on) and they stole everything off the car, even the kit! projectors, tails, CF hood, stereo, leather gsr seats. people are grimey they will take whatever they can. MY other freind had a del sol with a wing and someone put a bat or some long pole under the wing and tried to pry it off.

Wow!! You should all hear my car now haha !! It is sooo loud in the car that you can barely hear the music sometimes haha. I think I am going to go with the DTM Dual. Before I do though, whats the sound difference between the Magnaflow and DTM??? Anybody have any sound bites of either one???
