display light
I just got a '90 Maxima, and I hate the ugly green light of my gauges. I've been to a few "auto sport" shops, asking if they could possibly replace the green bulb lighting my display with a nice bright blue one. They all said to go to a mechanic. I went to my mechanic and he sid it'd be a tough job.
I'm not looking for indiglo gauges, and I'm pretty sure there aint any for '90 Maximas.
Any ideas?
Also let me ask, I wanted to take off that red plastic covering on trunk that covers "MAXIMA". I was hoping the letters would just be stickers, and that I can mess around with them, and then place the cover back on again. You think this would be an easy task?

yes they do make indiglos for your car, check ebay
or you can swap in the white faced gauges from an 89-91SE easily and change those bulbs
for a GXE, the gauge faces actually have that green coloring on teh back so you'd have to scrape it off yourself unless you replace the whole thing
check out my site http://www.prism.gatech.edu/~gte671n/mymax.html in the clock fix how-to and that'll help you get the gauges out
since you have a GXE, you cannot just remove the letters, they are actually raised plastic; 89-91 SEs have stickers that can be removed
you could get one of those rear panels or one from a 92-94GXE or 92-94SE but the rest probably wouldnt match up very well
