Just go with the one that you think will look and sound the cleanest on the Max? I really don't think that you can get a ricer sound from a Maxima? I've got to admit, I've got a somewhat large muffler on mine, and it isn't anywhere near ricer?

I have a twin canister Tsudo muffler. Sounds very throaty. Looks good to. Almost sounds like a v-8.

Me too! Me too! And yeah, it DOES sound like a V8 on WOT. Hey, you got any pics of yours? I've got one or two of mine. I think one is on my website.

Ive been having the same problem. Im woried the ebay DTM style mufflers will sound bad. and MaximaBalla do you have to put a "?" after every sentence even when its not a question? Just wondering

magnaflow

i have a total warpspeed setup from y-pipe to the rear. and a magnaflow dual tipped muffler. car is loud and throaty. it "gurgles" when idling. i love it. it is especially resonant under bridges or in tunnels. and it gets up and goes under hard acceleration. it woke up the VG.

Oh no, I put 3 question marks, so arrest me! I'm so sorry Mr. Question-Mark Officer, I'll never put another one in a post again!

I'm stuck on exhaust too. Anyone know where to get some sound clips? I'm kind of leaning towards Magnaflow.

Re: no clue to which muffler to get

With the Maxima it will be hard to end up with the "ricer sound". With a V6 it will have a much deeper sound. If you really want to insure a V8 rumble also install the Y-pipe.

I have one pic on my website, but its kinda dark. The ones on ebay are mostly cheap rip-offs. The chrome will flake and the welds suck. I think the muffler i have would look great as dual's. Quad tip..hmmm

That's what I've been trying to tell people on here. You really can't make a Maxima " ricer sounding " with our V-6's?

Sure you can...

And people any straight through universal muffler is gonna sound the same. You're kidding yourselves if you think you're actually changing the exhaust note with a straight thru universal muffler...

"closed for maximum low end torque"...

regardless what that guy says, it's still a straight-through muffler. you still gonna have some loss in low end power. hope you don't mind the drone from 2000 - 2500 RPM

Yeah, I was wondering about that too. Don't think Flowmaster makes a 90 series. Ladeesman has a 95 GLE with a 40 series Flowmaster. It sounds pretty mean at idle and it's not ricey at all. But the interior noise is really loud and annoying. Too loud for me.

I have an arospeed muffler. It sounds great. Deep and low. But for some reason the muffler cuts off at 3 rpm . Well Its not ricer like at all. Its not loud and doesn't want to make you gag when you hear it. When I have in park, and rev it in a parking lot, sometimes the alarm in the car behind me goes off, its beautiful . The cool thing about having the muffler cut off at 3 rpm is when the intake growl kicks in and gets louder when you speed up. But the cut-off probably means I have an exhaust leak. Dammit. If you want I could record the noise for you.
